Today we share a news that make us all proud and represents a source of satisfaction for the company, that is the latest nomination for the Colomba Bianca wine maker, Francesco Asaro, as representative and coordinator of the Autonomous Regions and Provinces in the National Wine Committee. As body of the Ministry of Agriculture, among other tasks, it is responsible for the procedure of examining applications for protection and modification of Dop and Igp wine production regulations. “This task marks a very important moment for me and for Colomba Bianca. It proves that our presence in the territory is recognised and it saw in me a point of reference of which I am very honoured. My commitment in Colomba Bianca will always be accompanied by this great responsibility for the protection of DOP and IGP Italian wines”, that is how Francesco comments his nomination.

A real milestone for a winemaker who grew up in the company.

In 2002, he was already working for Colomba Bianca as winemaker assistant, even before he graduated in Oenology, at the University of Palermo. In 2008, he is in charge of “La Vite” of Campobello di Mazara, one of Colomba Bianca’s establishment, and two years later, he becomes responsible for the packed wines. This journey allowed him to learn about all the different production phases that take place in the cellar.

Since 2017, he has been secretary of the Italian oenologists’ association (Assoenologi), Sicily section.

“Thanks to the winemaker Ferracane, important teacher and point of reference, and to Dino Taschetta who, besides being the CEO of Colomba Bianca, is also a person of great inspiration, both personally and professionally, I got the change to deepen my training, to learn and improve myself”.

“Today, Italian wines receive recognition from the best ones in the world. This year data confirm even more this trend. And for that reason I feel my commitment and my dedication will be even more important to continue on the path of high-quality wines.
