A production philosophy that, through the model of precision viticulture, finds its maximum expression into 1.800 hectares of vineyard, cultivated using organic methods. Today, Colomba Bianca is indeed one of the greatest organic wine producers in Europe. In addition, VeganOk certification involves a large part of production, thanks to the exclusive use of plant-based proteins. The commitment of Colomba Bianca to protecting and safeguarding the environment is also complemented with some initiatives in terms of energy efficiency, thanks to the use of renewable energy sources. The photovoltaic systems located in the plants of Salemi, Campobello and Mazara allow the development of an annual power production of 600.00kWh, with savings of energy in the bill equal to 0,16€, for a total of 77.241€.
In 2021 Cantine Colomba Bianca decided to embark on the path of sustainability by obtaining two sustainability certifications typical of the wine sector and internationally recognized, the VIVA certification and the SOStain certification.
Cantine Colomba Bianca in relation to the VIVA program has obtained an organization certification, certifying the plants of e Cartubuleo, Tre Cupole and Vitese while as regards SOStain it has obtained a product certification for the Vitese Line, an BIO line with the Colomba Bianca brand to date more sold.
The SOStain certification is characterized by 10 requirements that we can imagine as a series of ingredients that, if followed slavishly, allow Sustainable Sicilian wines to be spread on consumers’ tables.

The 10 requirements of SOStain include the calculation of VIVA indicators, specific, measurable and verifiable standards, recognized and designed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition in collaboration with University Research Centers.
The achievement of these two certifications marks a moment of profound evolution for Colomba Bianca: in fact, the improvement of sustainability performances will be the undisputed protagonist of Colomba Bianca’s choices in the years to come.
